PlantGuard Drought Defender

A foliar hydro-absorber and complex fertiliser that condenses water from the air onto the leaf, so plants can drink through their foliage during drought.

Why feed through the leaf

Foliar fertilisers and natural biostimulants play a central role in modern agriculture. Over the past decade their use has grown fast, backed by studies showing that nutrients are often absorbed more efficiently through the leaf than through the soil.

Plants take up nutrients directly through the leaf cuticle and stomata. Foliar feeding works best once the plant has enough leaf surface to catch and absorb the solution.

Built for a drier climate

Shifting rainfall, with long dry spells during critical growth stages, has turned once-temperate continental zones into arid ones and pushed productive farmland towards losses.

Frinnova Corporation spent years on academic and field research across Central and South-East Europe to make up for the lack of irrigation, especially in large-scale crop production. The result is PlantGuard Drought Defender.

How it works

PlantGuard Drought Defender is a water-based compound for foliar application. It contains a balanced mix of macro, secondary and chelated micro elements made from high-purity raw materials, so it dissolves quickly and completely.

Its key property is how strongly it attracts water. Once sprayed, it keeps condensing water vapour from the air, which the plant absorbs through its leaves. In tests it absorbed 160 to 220 grams of water per square metre of leaf overnight, at a relative humidity of only 45 to 55%.

The nutrients support healthy growth of leaves, flowers and fruit, and greatly increase drought tolerance, which leads to higher yields.

Fits your spray programme

PlantGuard mixes well in the tank with modern crop protection products, so you can apply both in one pass and save cost.

It dissolves and spreads easily and sticks firmly to the leaf, where it keeps absorbing water and feeding the plant until heavy rain washes it off.

Safe to use. Environmentally friendly and safe for people, animals and aquatic life.

Three formulations

Each formulation is matched to the needs of a different type of planting.
